Revenue Land – According to a bill passed by the government of Karnataka, the purchase and sale of revenue sites outskirts the municipal corporation has been prohibited since 2013. However, the lands for sale in Karnataka that are within the jurisdiction of the municipal corporation need similar documents mentioned for buying agricultural lands. In addition, the following documents are also needed:

  1. Zonal regulation map,
  2. power of attorney (if any)

  7. Re-allotment letter/ deed if the land for sale is re-conveyed by the BDA
  8. Up-to-date land tax paid receipts
  9. Sale deed
  10. Encumbrance certificate

Please note for properties under the jurisdiction of the BBMP, an ‘A Khata’ provides legal protection to the property while ‘B Khata’ is for land that has not been approved for a layout.
